In recent years I have been working predominantly as a performer/composer creating music for theatrical performances. This has ranged from performances of spoken word and music, to accompanying monologue performances, and includes an ongoing project with Flemish children's book author, Ceelke Van Nuffelen.

During this work I have been developing a distinctive compositional voice for percussion and electronics, as well as an approach to composition that emphasises emotional underscoring while strongly supporting dramaturgical structures. 

I have recently been wondering what would happen if I try to bring this style of dramaturgy-focussed composition to a piece that is entirely musical - that is to say - no text, visuals or movement, only live music in an intimate and immersive location. 

What stories can I tell with these tools? What emotional and physiological responses can I let my audience experience?

In a project spanning from Summer 2025 - Autumn 2026 I will explore these questions through research, creation and performances.
