Education

I began teaching in 2017 as a one-to-one instrumental teacher and youth ensemble director with Trafford Music Service (UK). Since then, education has developed alongside my artistic practice and has become an integral part of my work as a musician and creator.
​
My current educational work is largely centred on community-based music making and collaborative creation. I am involved in outreach projects with Buren (Maisha VZW), a trajectory of music theatre activities with young people new to the Belgian education system. I also work as coordinator and coach of Maisha In Concert, a project that creates meaningful connections between conservatoire students and highly skilled amateur musicians in Antwerp through collaborative creation trajectories.

Alongside these longer-term projects, I regularly lead one-off workshops in percussion, voice, and collective creation for schools and community groups. In 2026, I will start a Straatorkest in Merksemdok, an inclusive neighbourhood ensemble bringing together beginner to advanced musicians from diverse musical backgrounds to create and perform new, self created, fusion-based repertoire together.
